Judit Tardi has started her work as Honorary Consul of Hungary, headquartered in Christchurch, with jurisdiction over the South Island, Stewart Island and the Chatham Islands. Congratulations!

On 18 October, Amb. Zsolt Hetesy had the honour to introduce Ms. Judit Tardi as our new Honorary Consul of Hungary. The event in Christchurch, drew an extraordinary crowd, with Hon. Minister Matt Doocey MP for Waimakariri, Hon Dr Vanessa Weenink, MP for Banks Peninsula, Hon Dr Duncan Webb MP for Christchurch Central, His Worship Phil Mauger, Mayor of Christchurch, Ms He Ying, Consul-General for the People’s Republic of China, and dozens of Honorary Consuls, including our very own, Ms. Petra Lipóth from Auckland. The Hungarian Community was well-represented, with former and current Presidents of the Christchurch Hungarian Club, as well as other community leaders and representatives. Members of Academia and Business were also present, creating high hopes that Ms. Tardi will not only provide better support for our fellow Hungarian citizens, but will be our bridge-builder on all those fronts. Welcome Dear Judit in the Team!
